Bevil Bramwell OMI offers an extensive survey of the theology of von Balthasar comparing it with other luminaries of the twentieth century such as Joseph Ratzinger, Karl Rahner SJ, Yves Congar OP, Henri de Lubac SJ and John Paul II. There are also numerous references to the secondary literature and a substantial comparison with the teaching of the Second Vatican Council. This book is a tribute to one of the great theologians of the Twentieth century.

About the Author
Father Bevil Bramwell is a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. He is Undergraduate Dean, resident theologian, and instructor at The Catholic Distance University designing online theology courses as well as managing the BA and AA Programs at the university. He has been a professor and a spiritual director in high schools, seminaries and universities. He received his U.Ed. and B.Sc. from the University of Natal in South Africa; an S.T.B. from the Gregorian University in Rome; an S.T.L. from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology; and his Ph.D. from Boston College. He has addressed many groups. His publications include a number of book reviews as well as numerous articles for technical journals as well as the pastoral periodicals: Priest; Homiletic and Pastoral Review. He is a regular contributor to the online website The Catholic Thing. Fr. Bramwell is currently working on the publication of a book on the theology of the sacraments and a number of other projects. In addition to all of Fr Bramwell's many credentials and manuscripts, readers will benefit from the fact that he is experienced as a professor of Catholic Theology at Franciscan University and at Ave Maria University. He has also been a high school teacher, a pastor in South Africa and the Director of Communications in the Diocese FAAA in Tahiti, French Polynesia. He was also a researcher on the South African National Antarctic Expedition in 1976. Fr. Bramwell’s interest is in the theology of the Church and how to help people to understand and participate in the grace and truth of the Catholic Church.

kindle version impossible to read

An old version of the word document has been put on line, including the corrections. This book is excellent, but it derserves and we need the proper version.
