Ilya Grigoryev is the author of AnyLogic documentation and AnyLogic training courses. Ilya has M.S. in computer science from the Saint-Petersburg State Polytechnic University. He has presented numerous public trainings in U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. Ilya Grigoryev has been a simulation consultant to several organizations. He has been working at The AnyLogic Company for ten years and knows a lot about simulation and AnyLogic.

The simulation book I've been waiting for!

Such a great piece of software, so many features, such an interesting topic... but the lack of a user's manual has always been our downfall (as many customers have told us). Well, this isn't actually a detailed user's guide. It's a very practical step-by-step guidebook that leads you through multiple model-building exercises while illustrating features along the way and providing just enough theory and background to keep things balanced and clear.
This is not the book if you want a detailed study of simulation in general -- but it's your best friend if you want to grasp the basics of simulation techniques you may not be familiar with, extract the full value from your software, or get up to speed quickly on your simulation project. If time is money -- such as in consulting or any business where you build models for others -- there's no better investment. Another key segment that will benefit from this book are modelers who have familiarity with other software tools and one of the three major paradigms covered in this book. If you are a Systems Dynamics practitioner, for example, you can get exposure to Agent Based or Discrete Event techniques quickly and easily.

Book ok, delivery not

I ordered this book via the publishers web page. The quoted prizes were much cheaper than the ones billed by amazon. This is really an annoyance. I feel that because of my country I have to pay extra. I do regret buying Kindle as the customers from different countries are treated differently.

Great for beginners

This book is very good if you are novice in AnyLogic. It guides you through all kind of simulations and gives you examples. Language is not elaborated and easy to understand (might be relevant if english is not your native launguage). You will learn how to use AnyLogic software and basics of the simulation.
