If you're considering a pellet stove, this is the book for you!

Well-written, infused with humor, engaging and informative - without getting bogged down in tedious details. Who knew a book about pellet stoves could be such an interesting read? After scouring the internet for information, this was a refreshing source of information for me when considering whether or not to purchase a pellet stove for my home.

Entertains as it informs: Must-read

Ken's book is one of those rare reads that entertains as it informs. I have owned a pellet stove for 20 years and was still astounded at how much I learned from reading this book. He understands the pellet stove environment as well as I have ever seen it described. I actually think that if more people read this book the sale of pellet stoves would rise significantly. It is always fun to read a writer who not only understands his subject thoroughly, but one who can communicate that information clearly to readers who have no knowledge of the subject at all.This is a great read not only for anyone considering a pellet stove for the first time, but for any of us who have been long time users of pellet stoves. What a great investment this would be for pellet stove sellers who are trying to attract new buyers - the sellers should give the book to prospective buyers and they would recoup the price of the book in sales of stoves. bp

De-mystifies the Wood Pellet Stove

Ken MacDonald has written a book on wood pellet stoves that should be a must-read for anyone considering a wood pellet heating appliance or really ANYone heating with wood currently. He takes an engineer's approach which de-mystifies the practical aspects of running a pellet stove. He has also made it quite understandable with clear analogies (often humorously presented) throughout. As he said, he wishes HE had read his book before converting to wood-pellet heat - which, of course, is impossible, as the book wasn't written yet. This is place to find out all the info you need to know with references to help you sort out what's on the internet.
Ken's book really has a practical view of the advances that have been made in developing the wood pellet stove. He points out that the home heating furnace is based on mid-nineteenth century technology (gasp).
