About the Author
Nancy Holder is the nationally bestselling author of forty-two novels and two hundred science fiction, fantasy and horror short stories. Excellent Horror!

I was thrilled with these stories! "Deep Cuts" is a great set of short tales bound to provide horror lovers with hours of excellent reading! (One thing I could have done without the introduction of the book which I thought trivialized the abuse of men and included some misinformation regarding sexual assaults/abuse of boys/men. In fact, it's more likely to be true that both genders suffer similar rates of abuse and boys/men suffer much more physical abuse. Overall, boys/men are less likely to report sexual abuse than girls/women. It's my area of expertise.) But aside from the introduction, the stories in this anthology were amazing and much better than the last three anthologies I've read. Congrats to the short story writers of Deep Cuts. Congrats to Evil Jester Press. Well done!

A must-have for fans of just plain great horror fiction

"Deep Cuts" is full of fantastic horror fiction tales both from men and women. It's a treasure trove of good horror fiction, both in terms of the stories and the recommendations of `further reading' of women writers to check out supplied by those who submitted pieces to the anthology. Featuring stories from both established and lesser-known writers, "Deep Cuts" fills the gap of the need for there to be more horror fiction by--and in celebration of--women.
Still, I long for a day when there won't be a need to have this gender debate, and readers will all agree that gender, whether male or female, doesn't determine whether someone is a good writer, or if their stories are interesting or compelling. With great introductions both from the editors themselves and from acclaimed horror writer Lisa Morton, "Deep Cuts" is a must-have for any die-hard horror fan, and it makes for perfect Women in Horror Month reading, but of course can be enjoyed all year round.
