Eye opening unless you prefer starring at the back of your eyelids

I hate reading books like this. I don't like it when my natural inclination to believe we live in a rosy world is challenged with convincing evidence and logic that's better than the pretty 'stories' that are much easier for me to swallow. But, take an honest look around!...all is not, nor ever has been, well! The reality is this world is a war zone on just about every front and, like it or believe it or not, we're all either apathetic or aggressive (or perhaps somewhere in between depending on what level of inconvenience we're willing to tolerate) participants on one side or another.
The great premise of this book is the reality there's two forces at work in the world: Good and evil and that, contrary to popular notion, man is not the originator of either. 'Know Your Enemy' is a thorough expose that if we're going to have a useful understanding of the world's corruption and tragedies, we can only do well and be successful if we first understand these things emanate from an enemy who is spiritual, understand his methods and then have an understanding of by whom and by what means these methods are employed.
'Know Your Enemy' is also good encouragement in that it points out biblically how we don't have to be helplessly left alone with our own mortal, uneffective devices to deal with all this but rather, we're given good spiritual resource and instruction from God and the Lord Jesus Christ to co-operate with them to at least minimize the influence and destruction of evil in our time.
Another author, John Eldredge, once wrote in so many words that there's a reason those childhood fantasy stories of 'good vs. evil' resonated with us when we were little boys and little girls. While those stories were make believe, the notion of good vs. evil felt true at some level. Then we grew up and now we know better...or do we? This book is for grown ups and it is THE story of good vs. evil not set in "once upon a time in a far, far away land..." but set in 'now' and in the places we live.
Finally, there are millions of 'good' books and they're not particularly hard to find. Because of that, I rarely write a review of anything I read. I especially don't write a review simply because a book is good but rather because of it's importance. In my view, this is an important topic and this is an important book that goes beyond the myriad of 'one trick pony' conspiracy books. Rather, via numerous illustrations and Biblical references, 'Know Your Enemy' is a work that presents a scope - past and present, broad and deep - of what methods and schemes the enemy, who is a spirit being and who's successfully enlisted some spirit and some human beings, uses to accomplish his (hidden and not so hidden) purposes.

Half Baked Theology / Sure Wish I Had My Money Back

This book is clumsily written and poorly edited. The author is quite repetitious yet still fumbles when trying to make a point. He takes on heady subject matter but seems unable to handle it effectively and often not biblically.
He denies the Trinity.
He quotes E.W. Kenyon who taught some very scary and unbiblical stuff like "Jesus died spiritually." Study up on Kenyon and you'll be shocked. The authors sites a variety of sources but, in reality, only provides partial quotes, without context, from these sources. He's mostly regurgitating bits and pieces of info he's read from a variety sources. He fails to adequately substantiate the cumbersome claims he makes despite endless, poorly executed sentences.
He denies the pre-carnate Christ.
I strongly advise against buying this book. In my humble opinion the author is not operating from a sound Biblical perspective (though he thinks he is) and he bites off more than he can chew. He simply does not seem qualified to "teach" on the weighty matters he attempts to discuss in his book. That said, I warn that this book can have unsavory effects on unsuspecting readers. The end result is confusion.
I wish I had my money back.

This book is absolute Shiite. How are we expected to believe and interpret these ideas being talked about with no background on the author? Who is he? What has he written before or studied to give him the expertise to write this book? It could be like a normal person trying to write a book on atomic research for all we know. I have no time for this at all. This book has the possibility of taking someone who is confused and swinging them one way unfairly. "Know your enemy?".... more like Know your author.
